A wheelchair was delivered to the Sassa office in Lenasia where Mrs Amina Dawood, a Sassa employee, received it.
Mrs Dawood explained that there are many old people reporting to the Lenasia branch and some of whom are being dropped off by taxis and can barely make it from the front gate to the office doors. The new wheelchair will simplify their time to Sassa.

16 year old Keanu, totally dependent on his mother was being carried to hospital visits, and over the last 4 years he's just become too heavy for Geraldine. The new wheelchair, she says, is a prayer answered.

Michelle Naran from Gauteng had a hip operation 3 years ago but sadly took a fall 2 weeks ago which resulted in 3 of the screws falling out.She was unable to walk and moved around on an office chair seen in the pictures below.
Michelle lives with her mom (93) and uncle (74) whom she took care of before the incident.

1. Frances Mthembu (58) lost his leg after a car accident in 2007. He couldn’t contain his happiness and wept with tears of joy when he received his wheelchair.
2. Affectionately known as Gogo Ndlovu, the 76 year old from Ndwendwe received her wheelchair from Gift of the Givers after having to share a wheelchair with her neighbour for clinic visits and collections of grant.
3. 83 year old Ntombi
Osando was born with holes in her heart, she struggles to breathe and is often in hospital. She received a new wheelchair form Gift of the Givers.
Mr Moatshe, a double amputee, from Lonelypark near Mafikeng was very happy to receive a new wheelchair from Gift of the Givers.
45 year old, Thandeka Ndwalane from Phoenix who suffers with her spine.
74 year old, Rajen Rahautar from Verulem who requires permanent use of an oxygen machine.
85 year old, Daupathy Govender from Tongaat who also has spinal issues.
For Isaac Maseko, a double amputee and student at Johannesburg Technical College, getting around campus and commuting with taxis are all incredible challenges for him. The Gift of the Givers team arrived with a brand new wheelchair to help simplify his daily struggles.
Rev NK Vilakazi and the congregation thanked Gift of the Givers for the new wheelchair for Mrs Betty Malehe. She is staying with her husband, daughter and two grand children. She suffered a stroke and cannot walk. Betty relies on her daughter to collect her medication.
