07/11/2012 - Richmond Seniors

Senior citizens in many parts of the country have taken over the responsibility of being a parent to their grandchildren due to early death of their parents. Thanks to the Drop–In Centre in Richmond, children from the surrounding impoverished communities receive a nutritious meal everyday before and after school. The Ndaleni Clinic also hosts Love to Live who provides counselling for many who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.

The Seniors were gathered at the Drop-In Centre by local community healthcare worker, Lalitha, who works closely with Gift of the Givers on community projects. She requested that we assist the group as they have little means, and to acknowledge their selfless commitment to their grandchildren, by distributing aid items to them.

GOTG distributes:

  • 250 Personal Hygiene Packs
  • 3 Rolls of Fabric
  • 5 Bails of Fabric

Total Project Value: R95 500.00.
