Gift of the Givers donated much needed animal fodder to farmers in Fullarton, Eastern Cape. Our team was warmly welcomed by all the farmers and farm workers of the town.
The town has been hard hit by the drought which started in 2015, farmers are left with 1/3 of their livestock as due to the drought.

Gift of the Givers accompanied by Executive Mayor of Mossel Bay, Mr Harry Levendal, surprised the elderly of Benevelon Old Age and Frail Care Centre with bulk food, detergents and 150 TFG blankets.
Gift of the Givers visited the drought stricken area of Calvinia where it's effects have been devastating. 57 farmers lost their farms and 200 farm workers their jobs.
We delivered Soya Bales to the distressed farmers and 200 Food Parcels and Blankets to the now unemployed farm workers and their families.

Gift if the Givers deliveres 5lt Bottled Water and Noodles to Emithini Primary School in Bloekombos, Kraaifontein. The school has no running water as water pipes have been damaged.
Gift of the Givers delivers fodder to the farmers of Mosselbaai Vlakte, Voelvloei, Herbetsdale and Albertina.
Our trucks, escorted by SAPS and traffic police, were welcomed by farmers, their families and workers. Other than Gift of the Givers, there hasn't been any assistance for these farmers since the drought.

Gift of the Givers delivers 1150 x 5lt water and 1000 hand sanitizers to Karl Bremmer Hospital in Cape Town. The Hospital Management contacted us saying they are in the middle of a crisis as the water supply to the hospital has been disrupted and some wards have no water.
Similarly the Emithini Primary School in Kraaifontein has no running water due to pipe faults. Gift of the Givers responded

Day Zero is virtually inevitable, the situation cannot be reversed as significant rainfall is not guaranteed and water consumption exceeds daily targets. Four million people face the harsh reality of standing in water queues at 200 distribution points throughout the Western Cape. This process could last a week, a month or even a whole year depending on the strength of our prayer.

Gift of the Givers donates 405 x 5lt bottled water to Goedehoo Primary School in Malmesbury. The school is situated on a farm and the borehole used to supply running water into the school has run dry.
Gift of the Givers delivers fodder to Ladismith. The area has been battling with drought since 2015 and lost 4 major dairy farms to the drought. The existing and emerging farmers both joined hands in unity today to receive this life saving donation.

The people of Koekenaap also received a much needed supply of water, 2016 x 5lt bottles of water was delivered to the community on the border between the Western and Northern Cape. This community and many others say they will be out of drinking water in 28 days.

Visiting two springs in Cape Town was an eye opener for the Gift of the Givers teams. Once the water supply was cut to 50L per day on 1 Feb, in essence, Day Zero had been reached.
