Gift of the Givers delivers aid to 600 families to the 3 worst drought affected agro-pastoralist villages in Jowhar district. The distribution was attended by local Hirshabelle authorities such as acting President of Hirshabelle administration His Excellence Ali Abdullahi Hussein Guudlaawe, the Governor of Middle Shabelle region Honourable Ahmed Mayre Makaran, Suldan of Shiidle Suldan Ahmed Rashid and other officials from the different sectors of the society.

At least 118 people confirmed dead from starvation and drought-related illnesses in Somalia in the past 72 hours. Most of them are women and children.
The situation is difficult even for the pastoralist and their livestock. Some people have been hit by hunger and diarrhoea at the same time. The Somali government will do its best, and we urge all to help and save the dying Somalis.
