Gift of the Givers donates Food Parcels, Detergents and Hygiene Packs and Blankets to the families with physically challenged children at the offices of People Against Suffering, Oppression & Poverty (PASSOP) in Wynberg, Western Cape.

PASSOP is a nonprofit human rights organisation devoted to fighting for the rights of asylum - seekers, refugees and immigrants in South Africa. Eunice Runeni of PASSOP visited our offices and requested some assistance for these families as most of them are unemployed and find it difficult to make ends meet.

28/07/2012 - Clairwood's HomelessIsmail, an ordinary citizen who was moved with compassion contacted GOTG to assist the community of Clairwood. 50 families live on Clairwood Sports Ground because they are homeless and have no where else to go. The government provided 2 x 2 pole marques. Day to day they have to fight for survival even for the basic necessities. The homeless people of Clairwood are grateful for the aid GOTG

The Girls & Boys Club is based at the New World Foundation, in Lavender Hill. The aim is to separately address boys and girls aged 11 to 16 years, offering discussions and activities on specific topics every Friday afternoon from 13h30 until 15h30. 25/07/2012 - Northdale Primary SchoolThe children attending Northdale Primary School in Pietermaritzburg generally come from low income households and townships outside of Northdale. They are so excited about their garden project and have a good sense of pride and ownership of their school. The fresh produce from the garden is used for the school's soup kitchen which feeds the children who don't bring lunch to school.

19/07/2012 -  Establishment of Halaal Kitchen in Helen Joseph HospitalA ribbon was cut and MOU signed to officially open the halaal kitchen at the Helen Joseph hospital. This is a big milestone for both the community and hospital and a project they had envisioned for more than a decade. GOTG contributed linen and 600 blankets for patients, equipment, utensils and a structure to establish a halaal kitchen.

27/07/2012 - Wheelchair to 100 Year OldMorgan Govender sent his request to GOTG for a much needed wheelchair for his father. The old man of over a 100 years old was recently diagnosed with Pakinson and is too weak to walk let alone stand. For 2.5 weeks, Morgan has had to carry his father around which proved tremedously difficult as he himself has serious problems with his back.
