Water Trucks for Tarheel

Nouakchott experiences severe water shortages throughout the year. In 2015 we sponsored water trucks for Tarheel (an impoverished area on the outskirts of the city) that deliver water for people at designated collection points. The pic was taken at one of the water points.

Well in Bothi Zembeti

In 2013 the small village of Bothie Zembeti, located 14km from Rosso, were the recipients of a water pump and solar panels installed by Gift of the Givers. This has had a dramatic effect on the quality of life in the village as, once again, the inhabitants no longer have to retrieve their water from jerry cans transported on donkey carts.

Bameira, a village 130km south of Nounkachott, Mauritania is a beautiful semi desert with sheep, camels and cows roaming freely. Besides houses, the village has a Masjid and a Mahdara (place of learning).
