Agricultural Inputs

A poor socioeconomic status contributes substantially to hunger and subsequently to malnutrition in township and rural areas. Gift of the Givers helps to sustain such communities by providing the essential agricultural inputs such as Seeds, Fertilizers, Tools, Fencing and Jojo Water Tanks to unemployed groups in various locations across South Africa. These groups consist mainly of elderly women, many of whom are responsible for the care of their grandchildren, but are too old or not educated to find mainstream work.

Once a garden project is implemented by the Gift of the Givers team, it is sustained by the group who sell the produce for a profit. Not only are they able to enjoy a nutritionally balanced diet, but are sustained financially as well.

Gift of the Givers checks in on each group ensuring gardens are well maintained.
