Wheelchair Recipients

Arctic2Athens is an exciting jet ski world record challenge with a bigger purpose - to raise funds to supply wheelchairs to the physically challenged, and to supply autism kits to assist people with autism. If you would like to support these causes, visit www.arctic2athens.org

  • 2 new wheelchairs were handed over to Mckaiser Old Age Home in Grahamstown.
  • Tannie Vytjie only dreamt of owning a wheelchair and was shocked to find it was brand new.
  • Elizabeth De Wee, a 94 year old great grandmother, spends most of her time in bed as walking is challenging at her age. She was in tears when she received her very own new wheelchair.

  • Johan who is homeless and can often be found on the streets of Durban received a wheelchair from Gift of the Givers. Earning money to pay for a night's accommodation at the shelter and to make it there on time in his broken wheelchair was a daily struggle for him.

  • 5 year old recipient, Nhlonipho, was left paralyzed after a viral infection spread to his spine.
  • 16 year old Yolanda from Westbury was recently hospitilised for back ache as she couldn't move independently and spent most of her time in bed.
