Marinus to break World Jet Ski Record on Mandela Day
Marinus du Plessis leaves for Norway today at 13h50. In honour of Mandela Day, the Ubuntu spirit of South Africa and in his endeavour to raise awareness and support of individuals who are physically and mentally challenged and autistic worldwide, Marinus will attempt to break the world jet ski record of 3000km on Mandela Day, 18 July. The gruelling 40-day journey commences on 7 July (see press release of 29 June) with the aim of setting a new world record of 11000km. A team of jet ski riders will accompany Marinus for the first 40km on the first leg of his journey in honour of this charitable undertaking.
This event is in partnership with Gift of the Givers selected as the beneficiary organisation for funds generated through this event. Gift of the Givers teams will be at OR Tambo Airport to wish Marinus a safe journey for this great initiative.
Gift of the Givers roll out to affected individuals and institutions in honour of Mandela Day and Marinus's noble endeavour has already commenced.
