Nutrition Supplementation

This is the distribution of a highly specialised groundnut-soya high energy and protein supplement, a world first, innovated by Gift of the Givers, and utilised in conditions of severe malnutrition, TB, HIV, AIDS, cancer and conditions of severe weakness and weight loss.

Meat Distribution

This is a special project done once a year co-inciding with the Islamic festival of Eid at the conclusion of pilgrimage when an animal sacrifice is offered and meat distributed to the poor. We have our own abattoir facility in Malawi where 10 000 families receive a 6kg meat parcel each.

Food parcel programme to support nutrition in SA

Gift of the Givers started a national food parcel programme in 2002.A year later, they designed the food parcel programme for the Department of Social Development, who gave them R60 million to roll out 204,000 food parcels in KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape – a first for an NGO.

Clean, pure water is an essential element to sustain good health.  We continuously sink boreholes in various parts of the country to provide access to water, especially in rural areas.

In Malawi, we built 40 waterwells for the development of agricultural projects.

We have provided drinking water in South Africa and Malawi, and this year plan to extend this project to Senegal.
