Luncheon 12 April 2014

It was the 4th edition of VOC’s annual Golden Hour Luncheon in partnership with Gift of the Givers, the event took place at the Country Manor in Schaapkraal and saw 850 older listeners of VOC come out in their droves, despite the soaring heat. This annual Golden Hour Luncheon is one that the Elders look forward to every year.

There was also a live telephone link-up with GOTG Chairman, Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, who thanked all those involved in making the luncheon a success, as well as wishing the guests an enjoyable day.
“We have been associated with VOC for such a long time, and we've done so many programs together. It is a relationship that goes back many years, and we appreciate everything that is done by VOC for GOTG, what they do for the community, and what they do to take the message across to everyone,” he said, explaining GOTG decision to collaborate on the event.


Dr Sooliman also took the time to urge the broader Muslim community to up their efforts in assisting those affected by hunger and poverty around the world, including places like Syria, Gaza, Yemen, Somalia and other parts of Africa.

The luncheon started at 11am with various VOC presenters taking turns to address the audience, the elderly guest attended in their best attire, it is a day where they meet all the VOC presenters, friends and enjoy an afternoon of fun and entertainment, the event ended at 6pm when all 940 of the guesst, staff, presenters and caterers received a GOTG Gift Pack. The elderly was amazed at the Gift Packs they received, with smiles of joy they thank us with their prayers and well wishes.
