Empowering Communities

“TOGETHER, WE EXPLORE PROJECTS THAT RISE TO SOCIAL CHALLENGES AND UPLIFT GENERATIONS TO COME.”

It is every child's right to proper education, regardless of their socio-economic circumstances.

The reality, regrettably, is that massive numbers of schools, particularly in rural areas, are significantly under-resourced. The result of inferior educational institutions is that the teaching and absorption of knowledge becomes exponentially more difficult.

This is a common problem and one so massive that Governments are unable alone to impact on school upgrades as rapidly as is necessary.

In light of this untenable situation, we contribute towards the creation of an environment conducive to the improved education of the disadvantaged.

Heartbreaking stories 💔 below of South Africans defeated by the economic stress and challenges of #COVID19.

Location: #GardenRoute 📍

When a farmer in #Albertina called in asking for food parcels 🥫 for farm workers in his area with deep compassion, our team sensed a greater need and posed the question, Do you need one too?. The answer was instant. Farmers have lost everything, we need to feed our families, thank you, he responded.

Location: #Oudtshoorn 📍

Here, the manageress of Oudtshoorn Inn was in a state of sadness as the establishment was soon to close down. COVID-19 wiped out tourism and livelihoods. Staff who had served the hotel for forty years, had to be let go as there was no alternative.

When seeking help, one question stood out for us, it warmed the heart and soul as this was South African altruism at its best. Would you consider food parcels for the staff at Turnberry Hotel, Queens Hotel, and Protea Hotel, as all of these facilities are also closing down? Is it possible to provide food parcels for all of them?

Location: #MosselBay 📍

Old Age Homes and other facilities have been unable to provide for their residents. Our team heard stories of shops that now sold rice parcels for R5, sugar parcels for R3 and electricity being bought for R10. The economic challenges here are so severe that residents are struggling to stay alive.

Rural schools in this area do not have the necessary resources as schools begin to reopen. In response, our team together with #SAPS will commence a three day distribution programme today where we provide rural schools with stationery packs.

Not only have we experienced the compassion of ordinary South Africans during the Covid-19 pandemic, we have also witnessed the incredible generosity of the business sector in providing assistance to those who have been impoverished in this unending crisis. WOOLWORTHS, without hesitation, provided 700 food parcels 🥫 at a cost of R450 000 for the Garden Route distribution.

Many corporate companies, businesses, professionals, ordinary South Africans and frontline workers in various disciplines have stood up to be counted in dealing with the challenges of Covid-19 in our society and are deserving of abundant blessings without measure. We thank you, South Africa 🙏🤲, for your support is the true representation of #Ubuntu
