Public hospitals are running on a low supply of crucial resources making service delivery a huge challenge. They are often faced with a shortage of bed space, equipment, consumables and dedicated personnel to utilise specialised equipment effectively and efficiently. Given that public facilities are already operating under severe strain, the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic exacerbated the issues within the public health sector.
Gift of the Givers implemented a number of health interventions stemming from our Covid-19 response. One of which is the equipping of hospitals with sustainable equipment to support not only their needs during the pandemic, but to add value in other medical fields post pandemic. Items such as ILEX Machines, Oxygen Concentrators, High Flow Oxygen Machines, Laryngoscopes, Intubox, Ultrasound Machines, Pulse Oximeters and Ventilators were delivered throughout the country.
