The humanitarian crisis in Yemen has called for massive relief efforts by aid agencies, as millions of Yemeni face extreme starvation.
Gift of the Givers initially set out to identify displaced people and found a distressing number of families to be in dire need of assistance. It was clear that an increased effort was vitally necessary and Gift of the Givers today provides thousands of food parcels to IDPs on a monthly basis. From our logistics centres in Sanaa, Aden and Taiz, where food from South Africa, Brazil and India are received, we prepare and store aid destined for poor families.
Gift of the Givers supports communities by encouraging the local communities to develop and upgrade their surroundings and basic infrastructure, such as roadways. In exchange for their efforts, Gift of the Givers donates food parcels to their families. The long-term benefit of this initiative is community development, the sharing of skills, safe and reliable access to and from villages and fostering a culture of self-sustainability.
