#GIFTOFTHEGIVERS ๐Gift of the Givers continues to extend support to vulnerable patients by donating high-protein and high energy food items to Beit Cure, the Burns Unit, and MAP Kachere Rehabilitation Center. This nutritional intervention plays a crucial role in aiding the recovery of patients undergoing surgery and intensive physiotherapy, many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds and struggle to afford proper meals during their hospital stays. One such patient is Margaret James, a 52-year-old woman from Bangwe township in Blantyre, who has shown remarkable resilience in her battle with paraplegia. After suffering a stroke that left her lower body immobile, Margaret underwent spinal tumor removal surgery at Kamuzu Central Hospital. Her recovery journey is long and challenging, as she also battles malnutrition and a history of tuberculosis. Currently receiving physiotherapy at Kachere Rehabilitation Center, Margaret has been placed on Sibusiso food supplements to restore her strength and provide her with the energy required for her treatment. After three months in the hospital, Margaret is beginning to show progress—she can now move her hips slightly, and there is hope for further improvement.Margaret expressed her gratitude, saying, "I am very thankful for the medical and nutritional support I am receiving. I initially thought my life had ended when I lost the ability to move, but I have been given hope and faith that one day I will be able to walk again."The donation from Gift of the Givers includes vital food items such as Sibusiso, Corn Soy Blend supplements, eggs, milk, soya pieces, cooking oil, bread flour, rice, beans, maize flour, and sugar. This ongoing support ensures that patients in these institutions not only receive the medical care they need but also the nutrition necessary for their bodies to heal and regain strength.Together we can make a difference: ๐ : http://www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference ๐ : +265 888 23 40 00 #GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference #ForTheGreaterGood #HealthCare #NutritionalSupport #Malawi

#GIFTOFTHEGIVERS ๐During the month of August, Gift of the Givers Foundation, in collaboration with the Blantyre Health Office, conducted vital NCST (Nutrition Care, Support, and Treatment) clinics across 14 health facilities in the district. Our focus was on reaching the most vulnerable—adults and adolescents, pregnant mothers, and patients with chronic illnesses. Through these clinics, we were able to assess and assist all targeted beneficiaries with much-needed food supplements. For the most severely affected patients, our support included Cream of Maize, 60 sachets of RUTF (Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food), and 10 packets of soya pieces. Moderately affected patients received 10 kgs of Likuni Phala and 2 packets of Genesis, ensuring they had the nutritional boost necessary for recovery. One story that stands out is that of Yosafa Chisowire, a 78-year-old man who began his NCST journey in June. When Yosafa first arrived at Lundu Health Centre, he was severely malnourished, suffering from persistent diarrhea, an unstoppable cough, and had lost 10 kgs. He was in a state of deep distress, with little hope for recovery, even fearing his wife might leave him due to his condition. But thanks to the NCST project, Yosafa’s situation has drastically improved. His weight has increased by 15%, his persistent diarrhea has stopped, and most importantly, he can now walk on his own without the need for a guardian. Seeing Yosafa's remarkable progress, Mr. Mkwezalamba from Lundu Health Centre expressed his heartfelt thanks to Gift of the Givers, praising the lifesaving nutrition support we provide. This success story is just one of many that highlight the impact of our work. We are committed to continuing our support, ensuring that more individuals like Yosafa can regain their health and hope for the future.Together we can make a difference: ๐ : http://www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference ๐ : +265 888 23 40 00 #GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference #ForTheGreaterGood #HealthCare #NutritionalSupport #Malawi
