Empowering Communities In Malawi

“TOGETHER, WE EXPLORE PROJECTS THAT RISE TO SOCIAL CHALLENGES AND UPLIFT GENERATIONS TO COME."

In 2020, of 189 countries measured, Malawi was placed 174by the UN HDI; a summary measure for assessing long-term progress in three basic dimensions of human development, being:

  • A long and healthy life;
  • Access to knowledge; and
  • A decent standard of living.

According to World Bank data, statistics reveal that Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world and the lack of opportunity within the country simply perpetuates the cycle of poverty.

In a our quest to continue uplifting the lives of the most vulnerable communities, we look closely and attentively into offering sustainable and empowering solutions for our beneficiaries. It is an exciting time for some of our Zakat beneficiaries in T/A Malemia, Zomba District, as they have recently been granted an opportunity to attain knowledge in small business management through a 3-day in-depth business training.Following recent assessments of our Zomba Zakat beneficiaries, we noted that there are some individuals who can exceedingly benefit from being empowered to stand on their own financially. A total of 34 beneficiaries attended the 3-day business training and were provided with capital to start their own businesses. The knowledge attained through the training will enable beneficiaries to navigate through diverse business atmospheres and critically analyse the different risks and opportunities in business.One of the beneficiaries, Bertha Chikagwa echoed words of gratitude and high praises to Gift of the Givers saying the knowledge she has been equipped with will help her navigate through her business journey with confidence. “I consider myself a very lucky person for being given all of this knowledge for free. I feel as if it is really Allah's will that I am one of the few lucky ones to be given this big opportunity. Allah bless Gift of the Givers.”To contribute towards our interventions, visit:🌐: www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference#GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference #FortheGreaterGood #31YearsOfServingHumanity#HumanDevelopment #Entrepreneurship #FoodParcels #Malawi ... Empowering youth with skills is empowering the nation! At Gift of the Givers, we are committed to nurturing talent and potential among young individuals who face barriers to education. Our recent initiative saw 50 determined students from AYIDO Community Based Organization in Zomba district completing a rigorous six-month vocational training program in carpentry, welding, and tailoring.During their graduation ceremony, Conceptor Bamusi, the Southern Regional Manager for TEVETA, lauded our efforts in supporting these youths. She emphasized the importance of skill development in propelling local economies, stating that when communities buy locally made products, it fosters growth within the country. These skills not only provide independence but also encourage entrepreneurship, enabling these youths to establish their own businesses and create employment opportunities, thereby contributing to the reduction of unemployment in Malawi.We are immensely proud of these graduates and remain committed to providing pathways for the youth to build brighter futures through skills and education. Their determination and newly acquired expertise are paving the way for a more empowered and self-reliant generation in our nation.Together we can make a difference:🌐 : www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference📞 : +265 888 23 40 00#GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference#forthegreatergood #31YearsOfServingHumanity#humandevelopment #entrepreneurship #Malawi ... In Malawi, the reality for four out of five families is a life spent in dilapidated houses constructed with mud bricks, dirt floors, and grass thatched roofs. For these vulnerable individuals, the struggle to afford a proper dwelling is a daily hardship, exacerbated during the rainy season when leaking roofs expose families to harsh weather conditions. The damp environment becomes a breeding ground for diseases, while mud floors harbour insects and health hazards, posing constant threats to their well-being.At Gift of the Givers, we are dedicated to changing this narrative. Over the years, we have constructed and handed over 95 houses in various districts across Malawi, providing safe and secure shelter to those in need. These homes not only offer protection from the elements but also restore hope and dignity to individuals who never imagined owning a decent house.Join us in this journey of transformation and resilience. Watch the video to witness the impact of our shelter project and the challenges faced by these resilient individuals. Together, let's continue to build homes, restore hope, and uplift communities.Together we can make a difference:🌐 : www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference📞 : +265 888 23 40 00#GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference#forthegreatergood #31YearsOfServingHumanity#humandevelopment #shelter #Malawi ...
