Empowering Communities In Malawi

“TOGETHER, WE EXPLORE PROJECTS THAT RISE TO SOCIAL CHALLENGES AND UPLIFT GENERATIONS TO COME."

In 2020, of 189 countries measured, Malawi was placed 174by the UN HDI; a summary measure for assessing long-term progress in three basic dimensions of human development, being:

  • A long and healthy life;
  • Access to knowledge; and
  • A decent standard of living.

According to World Bank data, statistics reveal that Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world and the lack of opportunity within the country simply perpetuates the cycle of poverty.

Phase One focused on the rehabilitation of two buildings and the construction of two toilets to improve hygiene and accessibility. Phase Two involved modifying an incomplete building into a functional space that now includes a classroom, conference room, library, and staff office. Additionally, electrical installations were completed to ensure a fully operational learning environment.With these improvements, AIYDO now has the infrastructure necessary to provide a conducive learning space for young people pursuing vocational training.Together we can make a difference; 🌐 : http://www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference 📞 : +265 888 23 40 00 #GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference #ForTheGreaterGood #HumanDevelopment #VocationalTraining #Malawi

#GIFTOFTHEGIVERS 💚Gift of the Givers is thrilled to share the uplifting results of our recent monitoring exercise on the Revolving Fund Support Program. This initiative continues to spark resilience and growth among local entrepreneurs, with remarkable progress to celebrate.Initially supporting 15 entrepreneurs, the program has now grown to 17 members, following two successful repayment cycles. Despite challenges such as increased commodity prices and transportation costs, these entrepreneurs have demonstrated unwavering determination, growing their businesses and securing brighter futures.A key highlight is the 40% of members who have diversified into goat farming, creating a financial safety net to weather future challenges. This strategic investment not only supports their businesses but also ensures sustainability and resilience for years to come.One of our beneficiaries, Violet Salanje, a 42-year-old mother of five, shared her heartfelt gratitude: "Since the program began, my family no longer struggles with hunger. I can now use my earnings to meet our basic needs."At Gift of the Givers, we believe in empowering communities through innovative and sustainable solutions, and this initiative is a shining example of that commitment.Together, we can make a difference: 🌐 : http://www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference 📞 : +265 888 23 40 00 #GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference #ForTheGreaterGood #HumanDevelopment #Entreprenuership #Malawi

#GIFTOFTHEGIVERS 💚Gift of the Givers is proud to share another milestone in our mission to support vulnerable households and foster sustainable livelihoods. Recently, we disbursed cash to 11 Zakat beneficiaries doing small businesses in GVH Ipila, Mangochi District. The cash is given as a revolving fund to expand their small-scale businesses and build financial independence. This was done after training them in entrepreneurship to ensure success in their businesses.These dedicated individuals, engaged in small trades like retail, agriculture, and services, face daily challenges in accessing capital to sustain and grow their businesses. This support will enable them to invest in vital goods, materials, and resources to boost their income and stabilize their livelihoods.What makes this initiative even more impactful is its revolving nature—once the funds are repaid, they will be reinvested to support others in need, creating a ripple effect of empowerment and opportunity in the community.At Gift of the Givers, we are committed to unlocking potential and transforming lives through targeted financial aid and sustainable development.Together, we can make a difference: 🌐 : http://www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference 📞 : +265 888 23 40 00 #GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference #ForTheGreaterGood #HumanDevelopment #Entreprenuership #Malawi

By combining craftsmanship and creativity, we are equipping these women to shine in the ever-evolving fashion industry. It's inspiring to witness their hands-on experience transform into technical expertise and bold aspirations.But the impact doesn’t stop with individuals. 🌟 This initiative is a pathway toward community upliftment, offering the tools, knowledge, and confidence needed to build sustainable and growing businesses.We’re thrilled to see these talented individuals rise to the challenge, and we can’t wait to watch them flourish as skilled professionals ready to make their mark in Malawi 🪡🌍Together, we can make a difference: 🌐 : http://www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference 📞 : +265 888 23 40 00 #GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference #ForTheGreaterGood #HumanDevelopment #Entreprenuership #Malawi

#GIFTOFTHEGIVERS 💚Mode Village, T/A Kuthembwe, is one of the most underdeveloped areas in Blantyre Rural, where poverty is widespread, and many families face unimaginable hardships. In this remote community, having a decent shelter is a luxury that most cannot afford. For generations, families have lived in makeshift structures, vulnerable to the elements and the uncertainties of life.Recently, Gift of the Givers Foundation, in partnership with One Nation UK, turned dreams into reality for two deserving families. Two beautiful and sturdy houses were handed over, marking a new chapter of hope and dignity for these families.For Hanifa Mapata, one of the beneficiaries, this home symbolizes a fresh start. Overwhelmed with joy, she shared, “This house is more than I ever dreamed of. I no longer have to worry about moving my blind husband to a dry corner when it rains or fear the roof collapsing on us. We can now sleep in peace, safe and secure under this strong roof. This home has truly changed our lives.”The second home was gifted to the Sheikh who will lead prayers at the community’s only masjid, which was also constructed by Gift of the Givers with the support from One Nation. This gesture ensures not only physical shelter but also spiritual guidance and unity for the villagers.These houses stand as a testament to what can be achieved when compassion meets action. They provide more than just shelter—they bring hope, security, and the promise of brighter days for families in one of the most marginalized areas.Together, we can make a difference: 🌐 : http://www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference 📞 : +265 888 23 40 00 #GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference #ForTheGreaterGood #HumanDevelopment #Shelter #Malawi
