The economic instability and subsequent poverty which wracked the country threatened food security for many Palestinian families. With the number of families losing breadwinners to death or imprisonment, the ability to earn an income was significantly reduced, leaving them dependent on assistance.
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine resulted in limited access to food given the prevailing blockades which prohibited the freedom of movement.
Whilst working towards a sustainable intervention, Gift of the Givers recognised the need for immediate relief and so set to providing food through the delivery of food parcels and hot meals during the month of Ramadaan.

Our team in Gaza has been sourcing and distributing fresh guava fruit to municipal workers who are selflessly volunteering their time to clear rubble and keep the streets clean. This project not only provides nutritional support to these dedicated individuals, but also serves as a gesture of appreciation for their vital work. By recognising and encouraging these workers, we are helping to ensure the continuation of essential services that have a direct impact on both public health and the local environment.
