Human Development may best be described as the process of enabling individuals to grow and develop through the expansion of their own capabilities. In a developing world characterised by poor-quality infrastructure, under-resourced facilities and severely disadvantaged communities, never has the need for effective socio-economic solutions been more strongly felt.
We are dedicated to contributing towards the transformation of the environment, making available interventions for, especially the vulnerable, to impact on poverty, thus empowering communities and creating an improved quality of life.
Our Regional Director for the Middle East, Dr Malik Abou-Rageila, recently visited northern Syria to oversee the final stages of construction at the new Ihsan village. This vital project aims to provide safe and sustainable housing for displaced families, moving them from camps to modern, well-equipped housing units. The village features earthquake-resistant construction, spacious 90-square-metre apartments suitable for larger families, and a comprehensive urban plan with wide streets and modern infrastructure. The project also includes childcare facilities, kindergartens, women's empowerment programmes and psychosocial support services.Around 200 families are expected to move into their new homes by early October, just before the onset of winter. #32YearsOfServingHumanity - Gift of the Givers Housing Project in Kismayo, Somalia 🇸🇴 provides homes for orphaned families in the Jubbaland region. The project aims at improving the living conditions and overall wellbeing of the community. Local residents are actively involved in construction and implementation. The first phase is in completion stages of construction. Rigorous standards are being followed to ensure that the 🏠 homes are safe and durable. The second phase officially began in August 2024.
