The Gift of the Givers drilled a borehole in Marondera, Zimbabwe, with a promise to return to install a solar system to get the project flowing.
Less than a month later, the crew from the Gift of the Givers Foundation returned to construct the solar system for a borehole.
In addition to being a source of water for the residents, the borehole will also serve the agricultural activities in the surrounding areas.
Gift of the Givers water provision project also focuses on the delivery of clean water via rented water tankers.
As part of Gift of the Givers short-term water provision intervention, the team delivers a weekly supply of potable water using two water tankers.
Each water tanker carries 10 000 liters to remote sites on a weekly basis.
Our long-term goal includes the development of water collection sites at strategic points to service neighbouring villages by providing a regular supply of water.
