Access to Clean, Safe Water

"TOGETHER WE PROVIDE ACCESS TO CLEAN, SAFE AND RELIABLE WATER ACROSS THE GLOBE - ONE COMMUNITY AT A TIME."

We are all dependent on water for life… it’s the very necessary foundation for our growth and development. However, it is a scarce and dwindling resource in many areas of the world, and especially South and sub-Saharan Africa. A need exists to ensure people become increasingly responsible about saving and utilising water efficiently.

When disaster strikes, water takes on even greater importance, leading to our organisation having played a necessarily active role in assisting under-resourced communities secure access to safe, potable water and hygienic sanitation facilities, an undertaking against which we have delivered since the inception of Gift of the Givers.

From drilling boreholes and installing rainwater harvesting operations, to establishing purification systems and distributing bottled water, we have the flexibility to rapidly adapt to a community’s requirements, delivering water provision solutions which most appropriately ensure the sustainability of life.

Residents of KwaMakhutha, on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal have been without water for several days. The Gift of the Givers team responded by delivering 596 (5 litre bottles) of water. The KwaMakhutha Medical Centre (which was previously rehabilitated by the Gift of the Givers) will distribute the water to the elderly and the surrounding community. With water shortages widespread throughout metropolitan areas, the team additionally delivered water to the Zwelibomvu Clinic, in Marianhill.

One of the most vital resources that hospitals need to function is water.

Following an urgent request for water from both Winterberg TB Hospital, as well as Tower Hospital in Fort Beaufort, Gift of the Givers teams quickly responded with their Isuzu water tankers (filled with water from their super boreholes in Adelaide) to replenish both hospitals’ tanks. To contribute towards our interventions, visit:🌐 : www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference📞 : 0800 786 911#GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference #ForTheGreaterGood #WaterProvision #Water #Borehole #EasternCape #SA #SouthAfrica ... Thank you so very much

The lack of water supply in rural areas of South Africa poses a major challenge to locals, forcing them to rely on swamps or water harvested through their roofs.

Gift of the Givers strives to bring water to these communities through the provision of boreholes. A recent borehole installation was done by the team in the rural village of Thandizwa, in Northern KwaZulu-Natal.To contribute towards our interventions, visit:🌐 : www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference📞 : 0800 786 911#GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference #forTheGreaterGood #WaterProvision #water #borehole #kwazulunatal #sa #southafrica ...
