21/02/2013 - SA Post Office Plants Trees

The SA Post Office is maximising its carbon emission reduction targets by planting trees throughout South Africa. The aim is to reduce carbon emissions and tackle recycling. Gift of the Givers invited the Post Office to visit our kitchen in Verdwaal (Itsoseng) at the Motslatswe Primary School to plant trees but also to introduce the Post Office staff to the amount of poverty in and around the school. The Post Office has shown a keen interest in helping to support the school by donating food on a regular base.

The trees were welcomed by the school and were planted along the fence of the soccer field to create shade for the children during a soccer game. Fruit trees were planted in the vegetable garden especially for all the children to enjoy. 30 trees were planted in total.

Total Project Value: R6 500.00.
