The month of May marked 19 years of psycho-social support services from Gift of the Givers Careline to the community countrywide including beyond its borders. Director, Zohra Sooliman, recounted the milestones and success of the service since inception applauding her team of staff and volunteers for their dedication and commitment. Over the 19 years a countless number of individuals and families have been supported with a positive rippling effect in their personal and interpersonal relationships including the workplace. The organization believes that the high quality of services provided is partly dependent on the health and wellbeing of their staff and volunteers; hence a wellness day was set up. Amidst the diverse speakers were Maajbeen Parak, an oral hygienist and Sumaya Sooliman, a dietician. The South African Blood Donors Association (S.A.N.B.S) did an interesting presentation, blood and B.P tests. The function ended with a light lunch and all were indulged with gifts as a small token of appreciation and acknowledgement.
