13/10/2017 - Philadelphia Police Accompany us to Wolwes River

Gift of the Givers team member, Rashid, couldn't pass up an opportunity to swaddle a newborn baby with a cozy blanket, one of the many new items our team brought to the Wolwes River community in Cape Town.
 
The Gift of The Givers team along with members of the Philadelphia Police Station gave the community of Wolwes Rivier a warm surprise with a distribution of New Clothing, Shoes and Blankets for 900 recipients. Kids were also given packs of looms.

28/02/2011 - SAPS Awareness DayThe Loop Street Police Forum hosted an Educational and Aawareness Day for primary schools. GOTG exibited the extensive national and international projects work by means of an information stall. We also supplied a meal to 500 children and distributed sweet packs consisting of:

  • 330 x 250ml Sama juice.

The resounding voice of the community was heard bringing 200 police men and women together to the Sobantu hall. Discussions took place and plans were made to help make the community feel safer. The SAPS embarked on a community awareness campaign to support Child Protection Week. They visited 4 local hospitals in Pietermaritzburg, namely Medi Clinic, Northdale, Greys, and St Annes Hospital and addressd the mothers in all maternity wards regarding issues around child care, sexual offences, and domestic violence.
