Gift of the Givers has in place an education project and our educational support spans six countries, including Yemen.
Here, the primary focus is on students with partial or complete blindness. Through this initiative we provide education via Braille, supplying learning materials and sponsoring educators.
Marginalised and already on the back-foot, some 150 families suffering from genetic blindness live in a village known as Al Khuzna. The educational response by Gift of the Givers includes assisting those based in Al Khuzna with classes.
Our team has launched the first phase of food parcel distribution for cancer patients in Yemen's Taiz Governorate. The large-scale distribution covers three critical districts - Al-Qahirah, Al-Mudhaffar and Salah - and will provide essential nutritional support to 2,078 people living with cancer and facing economic hardship. This program specifically addresses the unique challenges faced by these patients by providing carefully curated food parcels that meet their nutritional needs during treatment. Our team in Taiz has successfully distributed 728 food baskets to support two vulnerable groups: individuals with disabilities and university students residing in dormitories who are experiencing economic challenges. This initiative effectively addresses the urgent food security needs of these populations, which frequently encounter difficulties in accessing essential resources. In a collaborative partnership between Gift of the Givers, the Misr El Kheir Foundation, and the North Sinai Governorate, we have successfully distributed essential school supplies to Palestinian refugees and local Egyptian students in Sinai. This initiative has provided 400 students with vital school bags and stationery, specifically targeting vulnerable children from impoverished backgrounds in the region.Sponsored by the Governor of the North Sinai Governorate, this project underscores our ongoing commitment to supporting Palestinian refugees affected by the ongoing war in Gaza. Since last year, our extensive humanitarian efforts have assisted over 1,500 families through various programs, including food distribution, winter relief, and educational support.
