Our Regional Director for the Middle East, Dr Malik Abou-Rageila, recently visited northern Syria to oversee the final stages of construction at the new Ihsan village. This vital project aims to provide safe and sustainable housing for displaced families, moving them from camps to modern, well-equipped housing units. The village features earthquake-resistant construction, spacious 90-square-metre apartments suitable for larger families, and a comprehensive urban plan with wide streets and modern infrastructure. The project also includes childcare facilities, kindergartens, women's empowerment programmes and psychosocial support services.Around 200 families are expected to move into their new homes by early October, just before the onset of winter.
