South Africa’s state hospitals are under tremendous strain on a normal day, and when disaster strikes, the under-resourced facilities cannot cope under the pressure. The lack of medical equipment, supplies, bed space and staff, among other contributing factors, lead to avoidable illness and deaths.
Gift of the Givers sees the need and supports these facilities through our ongoing Healthcare project which includes:

When Systems Fail, People Step In 🏥🛠 | Orthopaedic theatres at Steve Biko Academic Hospital re currently unable to operate safely after a circuit breaker failure disrupted the chiller system and air handling units. Without the required 16°C environment, infection risks rise - putting critical surgeries on hold. In response, we deployed two engineering teams, working alongside health authorities, to urgently assess repairs and restore functionality despite aging infrastructure. To contribute towards our interventions, visit: 🌐 : http://www.giftofthegivers.org/make-a-difference 📞 : 0800 786 911 #GiftoftheGivers #MakeADifference #ForTheGreaterGood #Healthcare #SouthAfrica
